Nakupuna Companies is seeking a Junior Logistics Analyst to join our team of talented consultants providing professional services to the Deputy Portfolio Acquisition Executive – Shipyard Operation (DPAE SO), formally NAVSEA 04 (Industrial Operations). This individual will work with a team in support of industrial supply support operations under DPAE-SO / NAVSEA 04.

Provide management support of inventory execution and validation, optimize Navy Working Capital Fund inventory processes through enhanced supply support tools, and coordinate the staging, kitting, and routing of SUBCAL material with respective Naval Shipyard (NSY) stakeholders. • Provide management support and technical assistance for the execution and validation of physical first-count inventories and limited second-count inventories, verifying material condition codes and data validity.
• Assist in analyzing inventory deficiencies and conduct technical causative research to resolve discrepancies.
• Assist with the management of operational inventory validity (targeting a minimum of 98%) in accordance with site plans to optimize Navy Working Capital Fund inventory processes, providing functional expertise for ongoing audit efforts.
• Assist with the development, distribution, and analysis of industrial supply support metrics. Provide technical and analytical support in researching location variances and condition code discrepancies (e.g., RFI vs. NRFI).
• Assist in gathering data and verifying compiled inventory results utilizing IT-enhanced supply tools like the Material Access Tool (MAT) and material Common Operating System (MCOS), providing recommendations on data validity to NSY and site POCs.
• Coordinate issues associated with industrial supply support, ensuring material is properly prepared and tagged with end-use MMDs prior to shipment from Gulfport to the respective NSY.
• Coordinate extensively with respective activities, including Production/Supply Departments and NSY Code 500s, to verify the status, destination, and storage needs of material, and to assist in expediting high-priority data calls.
• Provide technical assistance to project management, Code 500 personnel, and Engineering stakeholders to resolve escalated material and industrial supply support issues.
• Provide functional expertise utilizing IT-enhanced supply support tools—including the Material Access Tool (MAT) and Navy Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP)—to analyze transaction sequences, perform logistics analyst functions, and prepare metrics.
• Provide technical assistance and coordination for the receiving and staging of SUBCAL material arriving at the SUBCAL Staging location (N6006N) in Gulfport, utilizing established NAVSEA measurement tools.
• Assist with revising and executing industrial supply support processes, ensuring material identification paperwork is updated as required by local NSY procedures.
• Coordinate with the Project Material Manager (PMM) and other stakeholders to process and expedite early material requests based on priority lists.
• Assist with the logistics supply processes related to kitting materials to ensure they are prepared as completed kits for the NSY.
• Facilitate and coordinate the shipment of material from Gulfport to NSY, ensuring the fluid shipping schedule meets NSY requirements.
• Coordinate with C530, C550, and other relevant activities to identify, segregate, and manage the shipment of excess SUBCAL material.

The ideal candidate possesses logistics and industrial supply functional expertise related to policy, procedures, systems, and supply support processes across multiple technical specializations. The candidate will search for and analyze information, trace transaction sequences utilizing Navy ERP and MAT, and assist in formulating recommendations to eliminate material management problems. The candidate weighs the impact of variables such as cost, governance/policy, and IT data processing requirements when executing and validating supply program operations.

• Required Experience: Minimum of two (2) years of functional expertise in DoD logistics, industrial supply support, warehouse environments, and logistics metrics analysis.
• Preferred Experience:
  • Experience with the Navy supply system, NAVSEA measurement tools, and assisting with data calls from SEA04 or Fleet stakeholders is highly desirable.
  • Expertise in material part number identification for Navy Stock Number (NSN) equivalence, condition codes, and utilizing systems like Navy ERP.
  • Must be self-motivated, possess strong attention to detail, and have excellent oral and written communication skills to effectively assist and coordinate with stakeholders.

Licensing: Must possess a valid state-issued vehicle operator’s license.

Location: Gulfport, Mississippi. Position requires five days per week on site at the client site.

Clearance Requirements: Must be a U.S. Citizen with the ability to obtain a government-issued CAC and possess a Secret clearance. 

Installation Access: This position resides on a military installation. The individual must be able to qualify for and obtain a base access pass.

Background Check: Must be able to obtain a favorable National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI), including an FBI fingerprint check.

Physical/Travel Requirements: Must be capable of supporting warehouse-level execution validations and occasional travel.
