Nakupuna Companies is seeking a System Administrator. The System Administrator provides day-to-day administration, maintenance, and technical support for Department of the Navy Office of General Counsel collaboration platforms (SharePoint) and supporting application environments (Appian).

The administrator manages SharePoint sites, permissions, content migrations, and user requests while supporting Linux-based servers, Appian environments, application deployments, system monitoring, cybersecurity compliance, and technical documentation. The position follows established procedures and escalates complex engineering, architecture, and cybersecurity matters to senior technical personnel.

SharePoint and Microsoft 365 Administration (50%)

• Administer and maintain SharePoint Online sites, pages, document libraries, lists, metadata, and site content.
• Create and manage SharePoint security groups, role-based permissions, and user access.
• Process requests for new sites, libraries, folders, permissions, and content updates.
• Support SharePoint content and document migrations using ShareGate or other approved migration tools.
• Validate migrated documents, metadata, permissions, links, and site functionality.
• Troubleshoot SharePoint access, synchronization, permissions, and document-management issues.
• Support Microsoft 365 services associated with SharePoint, including Teams and OneDrive.
• Assist site owners with content organization, document management, records handling, and approved governance practices.
• Support updates to internal and public-facing OGC websites.
• Coordinate with users to clarify support requests and resolve technical issues.
• Develop and maintain user guides, desk references, standard operating procedures, and training materials.
• Track incidents, service requests, migration activities, and resolutions in approved ticketing and project-management systems.
• Provide user assistance and basic training for SharePoint and related collaboration tools.

Systems and Application Administration (50%)

• Monitor Linux-based Development, Test, and Production application environments.
• Review server availability, CPU, memory, disk utilization, application services, and system logs.
• Perform routine Appian platform administration and application-support activities using established procedures.
• Assist with application deployments, configuration updates, testing, and post-deployment validation.
• Support functional and regression testing for application enhancements, defect corrections, and platform updates.
• Troubleshoot routine application, server, service, access, and configuration issues.
• Escalate complex infrastructure, database, cloud, security, and application issues to senior administrators or engineers.
• Assist with approved system patches, application hotfixes, platform upgrades, and maintenance activities.
• Review vendor notifications and security advisories and document their potential effect on supported environments.
• Support vulnerability remediation and configuration-compliance activities.
• Provide technical documentation and supporting evidence for Risk Management Framework, Authority to Operate, audit, and cybersecurity activities.
• Assist senior personnel with AWS GovCloud, Kubernetes, and application-modernization efforts.
• Maintain system administration procedures, configuration records, installation instructions, and troubleshooting documentation.
• Coordinate technical activities with development, cybersecurity, database, network, and infrastructure teams.

Education and Experience: This position requires a bachelor's degree from an accredited institution or equivalent 2-3 years of experience. 

• Two to four years of relevant experience in SharePoint administration, systems administration, application support, or a related information technology discipline.

Skills/Qualifications:

• Current CompTIA Security+ certification.
• Hands-on experience administering SharePoint Online sites, document libraries, lists, permissions, and content.
• Experience supporting SharePoint migrations or large-scale content-management activities.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft 365 services, including Teams and OneDrive.
• Working knowledge of Linux or Windows server administration.
• Experience monitoring servers, system resources, application services, and logs.
• Experience troubleshooting application, access, configuration, and user-support issues.
• Understanding of account management, least privilege access, cybersecurity practices, and change-control procedures.
• Experience in creating technical procedures, user documentation, test cases, or support materials.
• Ability to communicate technical information clearly to technical and nontechnical stakeholders.
• Ability to manage multiple support requests and assignments within established priorities and deadlines.
• Ability to work independently on routine assignments and collaborate with senior personnel on complex activities.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting Department of Defense or Department of the Navy customers.
• Experience using ShareGate or a comparable SharePoint migration tool.
• Familiarity with Appian administration, application support, development, or testing.
• Familiarity with Power Automate, Power Apps, or other Microsoft Power Platform capabilities.
• Familiarity with Linux command-line tools and basic system troubleshooting.

Military Installation Access: This position resides on a military installation. Must be able to qualify for and obtain a base access pass. Must be able to obtain a favorable National Security Agency Check (NACI) including a FBI fingerprint check. Must be a U.S. Citizen.

Clearance: Tier 3 background investigation either favorably completed or underway with a minimum secret security clearance or an interim secret security clearance.  

Physical Requirements: The ideal candidate must at a minimum be able to meet the following physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation:

The Nakupuna Companies use a market-based compensation strategy to ensure that our employees are compensated within applicable market ranges commensurate with multiple factors, including but not limited to the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability, organizational requirements, and position location. The projected compensation range for this position is $105,000.00 to $120,000.00 (annualized USD). The salary range displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Nakupuna Companies total compensation package for employees.
