Overview

Nakupuna is looking to hire a Warehouse Specialist, Junior, to support the NAVAIR Command Property Office Warehouse.  The purpose of this position is to be a member of a contract support team to provide logistical support services for inventory management and physical material expertise client warehouse located in Richmond, VA.

Responsibilities

The following reflects management’s definition of essential functions for this job but does not restrict the tasks that may be assigned. Management may assign additional duties and responsibilities to this job at any time due to reasonable accommodation or other reasons. Specific duties include:

  • Perform receipt, stow, issue, & ship, along with other basic warehouse functions.
  • Perform physical inventories in accordance with client policy.
  • Perform material coordination efforts to organize and position assets in accordance with client policy and operational requirements.
  • Identify process improvement opportunities.
  • Operate Material Handling Equipment (training to be provided)
  • Keep Nakupuna project leadership team abreast of any issues of potential impact to achievement of contract deliverables or accomplishment of client mission.
  • Ensure compliance with company quality standards and on-the-job safety requirements.
  • This role may be performed during first or second shift as determined by operational and client requirements.

Qualifications

Skills/Qualifications: The ideal candidate must be self-motivated, have strong attention to detail, good oral and written communication skills.

  • Must be in good physical condition and can occasionally travel
  • Must have a valid state-issued vehicle operator’s license.
  • MHE license is desirable - MHE operator must possess a current Medical Examiner’s Certificate or proof of a current medical examination document on their license.

Education and Experience:

The following are desirable levels of experience

  •  Experience with commercial or DoD warehousing
  • High school diplima preferred

Clearance:

  • Military Installation Access: This position resides on a military installation.
  • Must be able to qualify for and obtain a base access pass.
  • Must be able to obtain a favorable National Security Agency Check (NACI) including an FBI fingerprint check. 
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen

The Nakupuna Companies use a market-based compensation strategy to ensure that our employees are compensated within applicable market rates commensurate with multiple factors, including but not limited to the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability, organizational requirements, and position location. The projected compensation rate for this position is $23.63 per hour. The hourly rate displayed represents the typical rate for this position and is just one component of Nakupuna Companies total compensation package for employees.
