Overview

Nakupuna Prime is seeking an Application Tester to support the U.S. Navy’s Total Force Manpower Management System (TFMMS) by validating software functionality, performance, and security across secure environments. This role ensures system changes operate as intended, defects are identified early, and releases meet quality and reliability expectations for a mission-critical enterprise application used by Navy manpower professionals.

Responsibilities

The following reflects management’s definition of essential functions for this job but does not restrict the tasks that may be assigned.

  • Execute functional, integration, regression, and user-focused testing for application enhancements, defect fixes, and system updates.
  • Develop, maintain, and execute test cases and test scripts aligned to system functionality and expected outcomes.
  • Validate data integrity, business rules, and system workflows across application components and interfaces.
  • Document test results, defects, and reproducible steps to support timely resolution by the development team.
  • Verify resolution of defects through retesting and regression testing prior to release.
  • Support validation activities for releases deployed to development, test, and production environments.
  • Collaborate with developers, engineers, and stakeholders to clarify expected behavior and acceptance criteria.
  • Support testing activities related to system performance, availability, and operational readiness.
  • Follow secure testing practices and comply with Department of Defense and U.S. Navy security, access control, and data handling requirements.
  • Participate in Agile development activities, including planning sessions, demonstrations, and retrospectives.

Qualifications

Skills/Qualifications: The candidate must be self-motivated, pay close attention to detail, and have good oral and written communication skills.

  • Demonstrated experience performing software testing or quality assurance for enterprise applications.
  • Experience testing database-driven web applications and validating system workflows.
  • Ability to document test cases, results, and defects clearly and accurately.
  • Ability to work effectively within a team supporting secure Government systems.
  • Certifications may be required in line with DoDD 8140 (e.g., Network+ CE, Security+ CE, CASP CE) to include Required developer, system, or privileged-access certifications necessary to perform assigned duties.

Education and Experience: The following are desirable levels of experience: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in any technical or managerial discipline is preferred.
  • A minimum of five (5) years of professional experience desired

Clearance Requirements: Must be a U.S. Citizen. Must be able to obtain and maintain an active Secret clearance. An interim is required before receiving a formal job offer.

Work Location: Remote within the Continental US or Hawaii. Ability to travel to or occasionally work in Arlington, VA preferred.

Physical Requirements: The ideal candidate must at a minimum be able to meet the following physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation:

  • Ability to perform repetitive motions with the hands, wrists, and fingers.
  • Ability to engage in and follow audible communications in emergency situations.
  • Ability to sit for prolonged periods at a desk and working on a computer.
