Overview

Nakupuna Prime is seeking a Network Technician to support the Army Human Resources Command. We are actively staffing contingent positions with a start date during the contract transition phase between December 12-26, 2025. The Network Technician is responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and supporting the organization’s network infrastructure. This role ensures reliable and secure operation of wired and wireless networks by monitoring performance, responding to incidents, and assisting with upgrades and configurations. The Network Technician works closely with network engineers, system administrators, and end users to support day-to-day network operations and long-term technical initiatives.

Responsibilities

The following reflects management’s definition of essential functions for this job but does not restrict the tasks that may be assigned.

  • Monitor network performance and respond to connectivity issues, outages, and degradation.
  • Assist in the setup, configuration, and testing of network hardware, including routers, switches, Wi-Fi systems, and other infrastructure components.
  • Diagnose and resolve problems with switches, routers, firewalls, wireless access points, cabling, and related equipment.
  • Perform network cabling tasks such as running, terminating, testing, and labeling Ethernet cables and fiber.
  • Support network device upgrades, firmware updates, and maintenance activities.
  • Support equipment moves, installations, and changes; assemble systems and perform component-level repairs on technical equipment
  • Implement monitoring capabilities to further enable management of application systems and deployment of updates and patches for both Government & commercial software
  • Work closely with network engineers, system administrators, and IT support teams on projects and system enhancements.
  • Provide on-site or remote support for network-related components during deployments, moves, or system upgrades.
  • Participate in on-call rotations or after-hours work as needed for maintenance or critical incidents.

Qualifications

Skills/Qualifications: The candidate must be self-motivated, pay close attention to detail, and have good oral and written communication skills. Additional certifications may be required as prescribed by DoDD 8140 (e.g., Network+ CE, Security+ CE, CASP CE).

Education/Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree in IT, Networking, or related field preferred.
  • 1–3 years of experience in network or IT support roles desired.

Clearance Requirements: Must be a U.S. Citizen. Must be able to obtain and maintain an active Secret clearance.

Work Location: Fort Knox, Kentucky. Telework may be authorized once approved by the Government.

Physical Requirements: The ideal candidate must at a minimum be able to meet the following physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation:

  • Ability to perform repetitive motions with the hands, wrists, and fingers.
  • Ability to engage in and follow audible communications in emergency situations.
  • Ability to sit for prolonged periods at a desk and working on a computer.
