Overview

Nakupuna Consulting is looking for an Outreach & Project Support Specialist. The primary function of this position is to inform community-based Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander-led organizations about training, technical assistance and grant opportunities provided under the Administration for Native Americans (ANA) contract.   

Responsibilities

  • Develops independently or as a team member a strategic plan for corresponding activities for electronic communications with Native Pacific community organizations.
  • Develops and disseminates communications for announcing ANA related workshops and webinars.
  • Responsible for setting up virtual events to include registration links, breakout rooms and any other requests required by the contractor.
  • Maintains and updates the contract list-serve and social media platforms.
  • Actively works to increase the number of individuals and Native community organizations engaged in the Pacific Region (i.e. number of email subscribers, number of social media followers, number of website visitors, etc.).
  • Develops and disseminates monthly newsletter to all Native Pacific community organizations.
  • Attends relevant meetings and conferences to promote ANA and services provided by the ANA Pacific Resource Center.
  • Responsible for the management of the Administration for Native Americans Training and Technical Assistance Resource Center's website.
  • Develops multimedia training and technical assistance products, such as web trainings, live webinars, on-demand training videos, self-guided web trainings and learning management systems, etc.
  • Maintains virtual systems used for delivery of services, including webinar and web-conferencing systems, dynamic scheduling systems, software subscriptions, etc.
  • Assists the Technical Assistance Manager, as directed, as the first contact for all new organizations requesting assistance.
  • Assists the Training Specialist, as directed, in the production of training activities, such as scheduling and booking training venues, ordering training materials for print, coordinating delivery of materials, creating and managing online registration forms, and assisting in outreach to prospective and actual training registrants and attendees.
  • Provides support to accomplish special projects as directed by supervisor.
  • Works as a member of a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Attends scheduled team meetings and actively participates in meeting discussion.
  • Attends conference calls.
  • Assists staff in various functions when needed.
  • Clearly communicates and collaborates, verbally and in writing with team members.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Has reliable transportation and maintains a current, valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

Skills/Qualifications: Excellent verbal and written communication, customer service and problem-solving skills. Can multi-task at a high level and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines and contractual obligations. Maintains connections with key stakeholders within the Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander community.

 

Education and Experience:

  • 3 years of relevant experience.
  • Previous experience working or volunteering with Native-led nonprofits and administering grant-funded projects is preferred.
  • Experience with using Canva, setting up virtual meetings using Zoom and maintaining a social media presence, also preferred.

Work Location: Work is performed in Honolulu, HI.

 

Clearance:  No clearance required. Must be a U.S. citizen. 

 

Physical Requirements: In addition to the skills and qualifications mentioned above, candidates must, at a minimum, be able to meet the following physical requirements.

  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
  • Ability to use stairs without assistance.
  • Ability to perform repetitive motions with the hands, wrists, and fingers.
  • Ability to engage in and follow audible communications in emergency situations.
  • Ability to sit for prolonged periods at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Ability to stand, sit, walk, lift, carry, reach, kneel, crouch, bend and climb a step stool/ladder.

Salary Range: The Nakupuna Companies use a market-based compensation strategy to ensure that our employees are compensated within applicable market ranges commensurate with multiple factors, including but not limited to the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability, organizational requirements, and position location. The projected compensation for this position is $61,500 to $66,500 (annualized USD). The salary range displayed represents the typical range for this position and is just one component of Nakupuna Companies total compensation package for employees.
