Overview

Nakupuna Consulting is seeking an IT Procurement Specialist to support the Department of Defense (DoD) Enterprise Software Initiative (ESI) Custom Training Development and Delivery Support Services. ESI is a strategic sourcing program that helps streamline software and IT acquisitions across the DoD to reduce costs, improve compliance, and enhance procurement efficiency. The IT Procurement Specialist will contribute to the preparation of procurement materials, manage vendor interactions, and support compliance with company policies and federal contracting requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the preparation and processing of Requests for Information (RFIs), Requests for Proposals (RFPs), and other procurement documentation
  • Support sourcing efforts by collecting vendor quotes, analyzing pricing, and reviewing offerings for alignment with technical and contractual requirements
  • Track and update procurement data, including vendor responses, order status, and delivery timelines
  • Review basic contract terms, service level agreements (SLAs), and delivery schedules under supervision
  • Coordinate logistics for the delivery, installation, and updating of IT equipment or services
  • Collaborate with procurement staff, IT teams, and internal stakeholders to ensure timely and accurate purchasing processes
  • Ensure compliance with applicable procurement policies and federal regulations (FAR/DFARS)

Qualifications

Skills/Qualifications:

  • Strong writing, organizational, and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (especially Word and Excel)
  • Ability to interpret basic contract terms and procurement policies
  • Familiarity with federal acquisition regulations (FAR/DFARS) and IT procurement practices
  • Comfortable working with vendors and cross-functional teams in a professional setting
  • Capable of managing multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment
  • Experience with procurement tracking systems or ERP tools is a plus

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Business, Supply Chain, or a related field; or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience

 

Experience:

  • 0–2 years of experience in procurement, contracting, or administrative support
  • Prior experience in IT procurement or a federal contracting environment is preferred but not required

Clearance Requirements: No clearance required. Must be a U.S. citizen.

 

Location: The position is primarily based at Nakupuna facilities in Arlington, VA; however, the candidate is expected to support up to four in-person training events annually in San Diego, CA, or Washington, D.C. 

 

Physical Requirements: The ideal candidate must at a minimum be able to meet the following physical requirements of the job with or without reasonable accommodation:

  • Ability to perform repetitive motions with the hands, wrists, and fingers.
  • Ability to engage in and follow audible communications in emergency situations.
  • Ability to sit for prolonged periods at a desk and working on a computer.
