Overview

Nakupuna is seeking an experienced Staff Action Control Officer (SACO) for a position supporting a Department or Directorate staff at the Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA), located at Fort Belvoir, VA.

Responsibilities

  • Work in close coordination with the supported Department- and Directorate Front Office staff to manage scheduling and coordination of calendars, meetings, conferences, video teleconferences, and travel arrangements, etc.
  • Keep senior leadership and supported staff informed of relevant organizational events which include working in close coordination with J Code, Department- and other Directorate- and Department-level leaders and staff; synchronizing and coordinating efforts across all teams; providing coordination and liaison with other contractors assigned to the supported Department to facilitate decisions by leadership; organizing and de-conflicting meetings and action responses; assisting in strategic, operational, and tactical planning for the supported Department.
  • Perform complex tasks involving gathering, analyzing, and compiling data and information into well-written reports and presentations, to support senior leader decision making.
  • Review, screen, control, maintain records, and coordinate responses on incoming correspondence.
  • Distribute and track the supported Department action items to appropriate program and staff elements.
  • Maintain awareness of annual due outs, such as the Department’s or Directorate’s military evaluations, and assist with in processing and out-processing employees, as needed.
  • Receive, analyze, manage, track, and execute all actions related to tasks assigned to the supported Department received within the Task Management Tool (TMT) system.
  • Provide tasker support, to include researching resources and coordinating with other action officers across the agency at large.
  • Manage multiple projects and priorities, and initiate follow up to ensure timely achievement of commitments, to include managing classified and unclassified distro lists and restricted folders.
  • Support the department with honorary civilian awards, to include assisting with drafting, proofing, and submitting all documentation required into appropriate DTRA workflow platforms.
  • Manage flow of classified and unclassified correspondence, presentations, forms and emails.
  • Edit and produce final copy of formal correspondence, correspondence summaries, briefings, reports, and a wide variety of other analytical, process flow, spreadsheets, and documents.
  • Finalize travel arrangements utilizing the Defense Travel System (DTS); follow up with expense reimbursements, and receipts tracking.
  • Evaluate, integrate, analyze, and interpret information in conjunction with other DTRA staff elements.
  • Interface with other support services including internal and external organizational POCs.

Qualifications

Skills/Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated experience in the ability and skills to manage multiple projects, keep track of, or adjust, existing tasks while identifying new tasks and expectations as projects evolve.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills geared towards executives. 
  • Demonstrated ability to write clear, concise, and articulate correspondence with a focus on quality control and attention to detail. 
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills that foster teamwork and create positive relationships with staff and principals.
  • Working knowledge of coordination requirements for the successful preparation and approval of reports, briefings, memoranda, and presentations.
  • Ability to prioritize, multi-task, plan, problem solve and adapt in a fast-paced and strategic environment under minimal supervision.
  • Familiarity with task management platforms, such as ETMS2, TMT, or CATMS.
  • Proficiency with MS Office applications (e.g., TEAMS, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Project).

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university.
  • A minimum of five (5) years of professional Government-agency, military, or corporate experience providing action officer support; process improvement related experience preferred.
  • Experience working in a time-sensitive environment with a high-level of accountability.
  • Experience with platforms such as the DTS, DAI civilian timecard system, and SharePoint.

Clearance Requirements: Applicant must possess an active Top Secret security clearance and be eligible for immediate SCI nomination and indoctrination. Must be a U.S. Citizen.

 

Physical Requirements: The ideal candidate must at a minimum be able to meet the following physical requirements of the job with or without reasonable accommodation: 

  • Ability to perform repetitive motions with the hands, wrists, and fingers. 
  • Ability to engage in and follow audible communications in emergency situations. 
  • Ability to sit for prolonged periods at a desk and working on a computer.
