Skills/Qualifications:
Excellent verbal and writing skills (experience writing SOPs and training manual desired), advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, organizational and planning skills, strong leadership ability, excellent communication and problem-solving skills, attention to detail and accuracy, solid judgment and decision-making ability, ability to work in a high stress environment, proactive thinking and initiative, adaptability.
Education/Experience:
- High School Diploma - required
- Associate’s degree in emergency management – preferred
- Minimum three (3) years of experience working as an operations manager in a CBRNE security screening operation – required
- Experience applying CBRNE concepts, including reacting to and mitigating hazards in a negatively pressurized environment – required.
- Developing and implementing training programs and overseeing staff compliance, to include personnel decontamination procedures – required.
- Experience performing maintenance on personnel protective equipment, to include powered air-purifying respirator systems (PAPRS) – required.
- Writing and updating technical SOPs – required.
- Strong customer service and client relations experience – required.
- Experience leading and managing teams of people from diverse backgrounds – required.
Certifications:
- Emergency Medical Responder (EMR), Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), or Paramedic certified. Acceptable alternatives to EMR, EMT, or Paramedic include completion of the Army’s Combat Medic Course, Navy’s Corpsman Course, or Air Force Aerospace Medical Service Technician Course – preferred.
- HAZMAT Awareness Certificate (or equivalent) – required.
- HAZMAT Operations Certificate (or equivalent) – required.
Clearance Requirements: This position requires an active Secret security clearance. Must be a U.S. Citizen.
Physical Requirements: In addition to the skills and qualifications mentioned above, candidates must, at a minimum, be able to meet the following requirements:
- Undergo an OSHA Respirator Medical Clearance examination and be determined physically capable of completing job requirements.
- Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) including OSHA Level C protective ensembles (compliant with 29 CFR 1910.132) for up to eight hours per day.
- Ability to wear a five-pound Powered Air Purifying Respirator (PAPR) (compliant with 29 CFR 1910.134) for extended periods of time while conducting daily operations without risk of respiratory distress due to a prior medical condition.
- Ability to wear a half-face or full-face respirator with particulate filters.
- This position requires employees to be clean shaven in order to utilize respiratory protection equipment – no exceptions.
- Ability to work in close proximity to x-ray machines (similar to those used by TSA).
- Ability to use stairs without assistance.
- Ability to engage in and follow audible communications in emergency situations.
