Overview

Nakupuna Consulting is seeking an Agile Delivery Lead (ADL) to provide oversight of product lifecycle activities, software delivery, and team leadership supporting the execution of a multi-year contract to the Integrated Personnel and Pay System – Army (IPPS-A) Army Military Payroll (AMP). Nakupuna Consulting is extending contingent offers for this effort in anticipation of contract award, which is expected in May of 2024. The ADL is responsible for coaching an Agile Team and overseeing the end-to-end delivery of products and/or services using various Agile frameworks and methods, such as Scrum and Kanban.  The ADL takes a holistic view of development and is accountable for successful product delivery and the results of the Agile Team.  The ADL is someone who can tackle the technical aspects of the Agile Team such as the configuration and maintenance of analytical tools and dashboards for reporting product quality, speed of delivery, and team performance.  The ADL assists in writing and updating technical documentation and is an active participant in architecture, design, and code reviews. The ADL possesses a solid grasp of the entire product development life cycle, from initial concept and requirements elicitation all the way through deployment and customer acceptance.  The ADL will report to the AMP Release Train Engineer and collaborate with senior leadership as well as junior team members. Furthermore, the ADL must have excellent communication and facilitation skills to produce and deliver essential reports and artifacts to senior leadership as necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Coaching Agile Teams. The core responsibility is coaching the Team on Agile practices, troubleshooting issues, removing impediments, and mentoring junior team members. An Agile Delivery Lead serves as an expert Agile coach.
  • Enabling Alignment. The Agile Delivery Lead facilitates alignment on priorities and progress by coordinating key events like Sprint Planning, Daily Standups, Sprint Retrospectives and Reviews. They promote collaboration and transparency across the Agile Team.
  • Removing Impediments. Agile Delivery Leads are empowered to remove impediments. When bottlenecks or roadblocks surface, they step in to resolve escalated issues and keep the Agile Team productive.
  • Overseeing End-to-End Flow. By tracking dependencies and work in progress, an Agile Delivery Lead can identify and address bottlenecks in end-to-end flow.
  • Improving Technical Practices. An Agile Delivery Lead drives technical excellence by assessing solutions and practices to guide engineering teams on quality, architecture, automation, and DevOps.

Qualifications

Education and Experience:Bachelor’s degree with 7 or more years of experience within the federal government, DoD, Army, or IC and/or private sector preferred. PeopleSoft, Workday, or other ERP experience a plus.

 

Skills/Qualifications: Certifications in CSM, PSM, or Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) preferred. 

 

Clearance Requirements: This position requires a current Secret clearance. Must be a U.S. Citizen. 

 

Work Location: Work location will be in the D.C., Maryland, Virginia region. 

 

Physical Requirements: In addition to the skills and qualifications mentioned above, candidates must, at a minimum, be able to meet the following physical requirements.

  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds
  • Ability to use stairs without assistance
  • Ability to perform repetitive motions with the hands, wrists, and fingers
  • Ability to engage in and follow audible communications in emergency situations
  • Ability to sit for prolonged periods at a desk and working on a computer
  • Ability to stand, sit, walk, lift, carry, reach, kneel, crouch, bend and climb a step stool/ladder
