Overview

Nakupuna Consulting is looking to hire a Program Manager to support a DoD client within the Depart of the Navy, in executing the day-to-day administrative, analytical, and professional support requirements of a federal advisory committee. The Program Manager will support the client in the strategic planning and execution of the Business Operations Team’s stakeholder analyses and engagement plans. Our team will work to design, facilitate, and present informative engagements and deliverables on business practices related to innovation, science, and technology, according to relevant legislative and executive guidance. The role requires an organized critical thinker with excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee business operations support for the office, including but not limited to, meeting and event coordination, travel management, official meeting documentation, and financial and HR reporting
  • Collaborate with senior DoD and Government officials on special projects that may cover topics related to strategic management, organizational change, national security, emerging technologies, industry disruptors, and other strategic concepts
  • Develop executive, high-level, professional briefings, reports, and strategic communications. Manage website and social media communications
  • Monitor project execution and update leadership of any issues (e.g., technical problems, project delays) that may impact achievement of client requirements or that may exceed defined scope of work
  • Encourage and foster creativity and innovative thinking among the team to deliver novel tools and concepts
  • Manage contract personnel and operations to include financial tracking and performance management
  • Supervise and track the team's progress to ensure cost, schedule, and performance requirements are met

Qualifications

Skills/Qualifications:

  • Experience drafting professional correspondence and presentation materials.
  • Experience developing recommendations and briefing senior officials.
  • Familiarity with software-based programs for scheduling, organization, and collaboration tools.
  • Experience developing, executing, and monitoring work plans, timelines, reports, briefings, studies, memoranda, and presentations, as well as experience with the review and approval process of these deliverables.
  • Keen interest in supporting an environment of innovation, entrepreneurship, process improvement, and other leading edge team leadership practices.
  • Ability to work under pressure and to adapt quickly in a changing environment.
  • Proven experience leading business operations teams and managing client relationships. OSD and Navy experience is highly desired.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills required.  
  • Highly skilled in Microsoft Office Suite and SharePoint.

Education and Experience: This position requires ten years of relevant professional experience. Experience working in or directly for the Government is required. This position requires a master’s degree from an accredited university or college. PMI Project Management Professional certification is highly desired.

 

Work Location: Work is performed in the National Capital Region with the option for ad hoc telework.

 

Clearance:  This position requires a Top Secret/SCI-eligible security clearance. Must be a U.S. citizen.

 

Physical Requirements: In addition to the skills and qualifications mentioned above, candidates must, at a minimum, be able to meet the following physical requirements.

  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds
  • Ability to use stairs without assistance
  • Ability to perform repetitive motions with the hands, wrists, and fingers
  • Ability to engage in and follow audible communications in emergency situations
  • Ability to sit for prolonged periods at a desk and working on a computer
  • Ability to stand, sit, walk, lift, carry, reach, kneel, crouch, bend and climb a step stool/ladder
